In May 2003, Michael Sheyahshe (Caddo) - CIO of alterNative Media, a traditional & digital art & media studio - received two degrees, both cum laude, from the University of Oklahoma: one in Native American Studies (BA) and another in Film and Video Studies (BA). He is a Gates Millennium Scholar, a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, and is a member of both the Alpha Lambda Delta and Gamma Beta Phi honor fraternities. He has presented academic papers at various universities and museums around the country. Michael’s been published in Illusions magazine, Trauma Magazine, and has a piece in Native Peoples Magazine about Native Americans in video games. Michael has served as Project Coordinator for Red Earth Film Festival 2000 and currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the Caddo Nation’s Heritage Museum. Recent artistic achievements include Director of Animation for a feature film, and having his art showcased at "Regeneration" in San Francisco and SoonerCon in OKC. Currently, he is undertaking a Master's program (MFA) in 3D Modeling at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA.
